Dr Bongi OBGYN Inc ("we", "us", "the practice"), led by Dr Bongi Rubushe-Ngwenya, is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly and in accordance with POPIA.

1. Information we collect

When you contact us or request an appointment, we may collect:

Your name, phone number and email address;
The reason for your visit and any message you choose to share;
Information you provide during consultations relevant to your care.

2. How we use your information

To respond to your enquiry and arrange or confirm appointments;
To provide medical care and maintain accurate clinical records;
To communicate with you about your care and our services;
To meet legal, regulatory and professional obligations.

3. Special (health) information

Health information is treated as special personal information under POPIA and is handled with strict confidentiality, used only for the purpose of providing care and as permitted by law and professional medical-ethics requirements.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only where necessary — for example with hospitals, pathology or radiology providers, your medical aid, or other healthcare professionals involved in your care — and where required by law.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access or disclosure.

6. Retention

We retain medical records for the periods required by South African law and professional guidelines, after which they are securely destroyed.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Third-party services & website tools

This website uses Google Fonts, a service provided by Google LLC, to display typefaces. When you visit our site your browser may request font files from Google's servers. Google may process your IP address in accordance with its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

We keep basic, first-party visitor statistics on our own domain so we can see which pages are used. No cookie is set, you are not tracked across other websites, and the information is not shared with Google Analytics, Meta or any other advertising or analytics company. We record only the date, which page was viewed, which site you arrived from, the type of device, and whether a call, WhatsApp, email or booking button was clicked. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, nothing is recorded at all.

When you send an appointment enquiry through the form on this website, the details you enter (your name, phone number, email address, chosen location, appointment category and preferred date) are delivered to the practice by email. That delivery uses a third-party form-delivery service, FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which receives the submission and forwards it to us. A copy is also sent to Limelo Solutions, who built and maintain this website, so that enquiries are not missed. The enquiry is not stored in a database or file on the website itself.

Please do not include detailed medical information in the form, and do not use it for anything urgent. Because the enquiry passes through the providers described above, it should be treated as ordinary email rather than a confidential clinical channel.
